•   The results of the AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG) Study 076 put pressure on the U.S. Public Health Service to issue guidelines for AZT use in pregnant women under limited circumstances.OA&Rpublicizes the unusually successful three-year, placebo-controlled study for Burroughs Wellcome.

•   Feinstein Partners Inc.establishes Kendall Strategies, a business consulting firm dedicated to the biotechnology and healthcare industries.

•   OA&Rcreates the "Timber Summit" for the Forest Products Labor Management Committee, which brings together individuals from all sides of the forest management issue. President Clinton attends the summit.

•   OA&Rcreates "Tap the Vote" to leverage the National Motor Voter Law for Miller Brewing Company and to encourage its employees to register to vote.

•   B|W|Rorchestrates "Stand & Be Proud" in conjunction with David Cassidy and Sue Shiffrin. The concert unites multicultural choirs from across Los Angeles to help the city regain pride after the riots which followed the Rodney King verdict.

•   OA&Ris retained to support Vasotec, which is our first Merck win. Merck goes on to become the firm's largest client by 1998.

•   Ogilvy & Mather Public Relations, Ogilvy, Adams & Rinehart and Adams & Rinehart are consolidated as a single company, called Ogilvy, Adams & Rinehart, reporting directly to WPP.

•   AClaunches the world's first wireless modem, "mobidem," for Ericsson in a joint campaign with Hewlett Packard.

•   Compuserve hiresAC, and becomes its first online/Internet client.

•   B|W|Rspearheads the closure of Biosphere 2, one of the most audacious scientific experiments ever devised.

•   FPIlaunches Genzyme's Ceredase, the most expensive pharmaceutical ever introduced. The drug costs $250,000 annually.
