New York, NY, March 26, 2003 — Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide today announced that Barby K. Siegel has joined the firm as head of the Consumer Marketing Practice worldwide.
Ms. Siegel comes to Ogilvy Public Relations after spending eleven years at Edelman, where most recently she was executive vice president/deputy general manager, Consumer Brands, New York. Siegel has an extensive and varied background in integrated consumer public relations with experience in a range of categories including packaged goods, electronics, retail, fashion, food, home, and general lifestyle.

Most recently, Siegel led Edelman’s relationships with Unilever, Hershey’s, AT&T Wireless and Kinko’s. At various stages of her tenure at Edelman, Siegel worked both domestically and globally with such clients as Ericsson Mobile Phones, Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse, Apple Computer, Claiborne for Men, Hanes Hosiery, American Greetings, National Pasta Association, Maxwell House Coffee and DuPont Sleep Products.
Ms. Siegel has managed a variety of programs including Barnes & Noble’s award winning “Close the Book on Hate” campaign, the launch of the iMac computer by Apple and the “Maxwell House Search for Real Heroes” with former First Lady Barbara Bush.
Prior to joining Edelman, Siegel spent eight years at a small firm working on such brands as Nikon, The Body Shop, Nutri/System and Campbell’s.
Siegel’s appointment comes on the heels of two major new hires at Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide. Marcia Kean returned to Feinstein Kean Healthcare as CEO in January and Al Tortorella was named head of the Global Corporate Practice last month.
