San Francisco, CA, November 21, 2005 - Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide (Ogilvy PR), today announced that Dushka Zapata has joined the firm’s technology practice as a senior vice president in the San Francisco office. Prior to joining Ogilvy PR, Zapata served as an executive vice president in the Silicon Valley office of Edelman.
“With an extensive background in technology, consumer marketing and journalism, Dushka brings a tremendous amount of experience and expertise across a wide-range of industries to Ogilvy PR,” said Michael Law, managing director/California and head of the San Francisco office. “She will certainly be integral in driving the continued growth of our technology practice throughout California.”
A 15-year industry veteran, Zapata has worked on a variety of PR initiatives including corporate reputation campaigns, product launches, industry analyst programs, crisis communications, community relations and mergers and acquisitions. In addition, she is an experienced bi-lingual media trainer and has trained more than a hundred C-level executives and spokespeople. Prior to joining Ogilvy PR, Zapata established and led the semiconductor group at Edelman, and represented clients such as Synopsys, Symbol Technologies, Apple and Ericsson.
Prior to beginning her career in public relations, Zapata was a journalist for several years.
In her new role at Ogilvy PR, Zapata will help to grow the technology practice in the California region, and will be heavily involved in media training, message development and strategic positioning.
