New York, NY, December 1, 2004 — Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide today announced that Elisia Canna and Carisa Strauss haved joined its New York Health & Medical Practice as Vice Presidents. Both newcomers arrive with extensive backgrounds in pharmaceutical public relations.

Elisia Canna, with 11 years of experience, worked with three major agencies before coming aboard. Most recently, as Vice President at Porter Novelli, she managed and served the Pfizer, Wyeth and GlaxoSmithKline accounts, among others. The teams she led won a Silver Anvil in 1997 for the Commit To Quit campaign and a CIPRA in 1998 for the Great American Smokeout. Previously, as Vice President at GCI Group, she managed the AstraZeneca, Novartis and Cephalon accounts. Canna graduated from the Boston University College of Communications with a B.S. in Mass Communications.
Carisa Strauss joins from Porter Novelli, where she served as Vice President responsible for several key clients. Most prominently, she developed and implemented communications programs for GlaxoSmithKline’s over-the-counter smoking cessation franchise. As such, she promoted the Great American Smokeout and World No Tobacco Day, collaborating with third-party organizations and celebrity spokespeople. Previously, as Account Executive at Ketchum, she focused on the Rezulin and Xalatan accounts. Strauss graduated from Georgetown University with a B.S. in English and from Boston University College of Communication with an M.S. in Public Relations.
