NEW YORK, NY, September 28, 2005 — Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide (Ogilvy PR), today announced that Luca Penati has joined the firm as managing director of the global technology practice. Prior to joining Ogilvy PR, Penati served as executive vice president/general manager of technology in the Silicon Valley office of Edelman.

A 20-year industry veteran, Penati has experience providing strategic communications counsel across multiple industries, including enterprise software, consumer technology, wireless computing, networking and semiconductors. Throughout his career he has helped start-up organizations and Fortune 1000 companies to enhance their brands, protect their images and capture market share. Penati has worked with a wide variety of key industry players such as Apple, Samsung Semiconductor, Taiwan Semiconductor, VERITAS Software and the Wi-Fi Alliance. He also led the integrated marketing communications program for USB Flash Drive Alliance, which resulted in the establishment of a new product category. Prior to moving to the Silicon Valley in 1998, Penati spent 13 years working in Europe executing PR programs for leading technology companies including 3Com, Ericsson, EDS, Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft and Texas Instruments.
In his new role at Ogilvy PR, Penati will focus on client and new business development across the agency’s global technology practice. He will be based in San Francisco and will report to Marcia Silverman.
