Marcia A. Kean Appointed CEO of Feinstein Kean Healthcare

New York, NY, January 2, 2003 — Marcia A. Kean, a former partner of Feinstein Kean Healthcare, a unit of Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, has returned to the widely-regarded healthcare communications and business consulting firm in the position of chief executive officer.

She rejoins Feinstein Kean from Lexington-based Ardais Corporation, a privately-held clinical genomics firm, where she led the initial commercialization of that company’s drug discovery products and services.

Ogilvy PR Worldwide purchased Feinstein Kean in November 1999, attracted by Feinstein Kean’s unusual combination of pioneering biotechnology communications; its practice in pharmaceutical marketing that includes Top 10 Big Pharma companies; and its Kendall Strategies unit that develops commercialization strategies for early-stage health care products and companies.

Ms. Kean, whose career encompasses nearly 30 years of health care industry experience, has served in senior capacities in pharmaceutical and biotech firms, as well as in the non-profit health care sector. Before Feinstein Kean Healthcare, Ms. Kean served simultaneously as vice president, corporate communications of Damon Corporation and its subsidiary Damon Biotech, one of the first biotech companies in New England. Previously she held the position of Manager, Financial Relations for SmithKline Corporation. She is known as a pioneer of good practices in the biotech communications field, and is a prominent speaker and author on key communications and valuation issues facing senior management. She served on BIO’s Emerging Companies Section Governing Board from 1998 to 2001.

Ms. Kean holds an MBA in Finance from New York University and a BA from the University of California at Berkeley.
