National Crop Insurance Services Selects Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide for Stakeholder Awareness Campaign

Washington, D.C.– February 27, 2008 – The Washington office of Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide (Ogilvy PR), a leading global communications firm, announced today that it has been chosen by the National Crop Insurance Services (NCIS) to increase public awareness of the benefits that are derived from a strong and viable federal crop insurance program.

"Affordable crop insurance is absolutely essential to America's agricultural economy," says NCIS President Robert Parkerson. "NCIS is committed to showing the American public the benefits of the federal program and how this private-public partnership provides financial security to farmers all across the country. We are growingly concerned that misconceptions about the program are being advanced as interest groups compete for federal funding and we are confident that Ogilvy PR can help us achieve our goals."

"The NCIS is facing a critical communications challenge," said Robert Mathias, managing director of Ogilvy PR's Washington, DC office. "It is essential that that key constituencies, policy makers, legislators and the public understand the benefits and proven success of this vital program. We are delighted that NCIS has chosen us to partner with them in this regard."

The NCIS is an international not-for-profit organization representing more than 30 crop insurance companies. These companies service all farmers participating in the federal program, including limited-resource and socially-disadvantaged farmers.

Over the next year, Ogilvy PR will help NCIS with messaging and a targeted advocacy program that will reach decision makers and the public at large. The campaign will be designed to dispel myths about the program, as well as increase general knowledge of the benefits the program provides for America's farmers.

"Maintaining current levels of federal support is the only way to keep crop insurance affordable and accessible to America's farmers. The public must be informed about this issue, and Ogilvy PR will help us get our message out," added Parkerson.
