Ogilvy Government Relations announces the addition of Matthew Nugen, former National Political Director for the Obama for President campaign.
Matthew was an early supporter to the Obama campaign signing on as Political Director in early February of 2007. He was part of the senior team that developed and implemented the multistate primary campaign plan that successfully launched Obama to the White House. Following the primary, Matthew was put in charge of the 2008 Democrat National Convention in Denver where he oversaw all aspects of the convention operation for the campaign. For the final two months of the campaign, Matthew traveled with Vice President Biden and served as an Obama senior political advisor.

Before joining the Obama campaign, Matthew was the Deputy Executive Director at the Democratic National Committee. Matthew is a graduate of the University of Missouri (Columbia) and a native of the St. Louis, MO area.
