February 24, 2005, Moscow, Russia – SPN Granat, Ogilvy Group Russia and Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide today launched SPN Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide (SPN Ogilvy PR) in Moscow and Saint Petersburg. From today, all of SPN Granat’s public relations functions will operate under the new SPN Ogilvy PR brand. The capability heralds the formal arrival in Russia of Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, one of the world’s fastest growing and frequently awarded international public relations and public affairs networks. It also will also provide clients in Russia with a 360 Degree Brand Stewardship® where public relations is integrated into holistic marketing and corporate branding strategies.
The alliance provides a number of benefits to clients and staff.
SPN Ogilvy PR will allow the Ogilvy Group in Russia to closely integrate best practice PR into overall branding campaigns. Leonid Shutov, Head of Country for the Ogilvy Group Russia said: “Both our international client base and local businesses increasingly recognize the benefits of fully integrated marketing communications. We share a number of clients already where SPN Ogilvy PR provides professional public relations strategy and implementation services.”
As a member of the Ogilvy PR network, SPN Ogilvy PR will have access to international best practice, technologies and talent development. One recent example includes a work-visit of Russian staff to Ogilvy PR’s London office. Ogilvy PR runs a regional training plan for its Europe, Africa and Middle East Region. SPN Ogilvy’s clients can take advantage of offices in more than 60 markets around the world.
SPN Granat was founded 10-years ago and has been recognized as one of Russia’s most dynamic and forward-looking PR firms. SPN Ogilvy PR will help Ogilvy PR’s regional and global clients to enter and expand operations in the Russian and CIS markets. Matthew Anderson, Ogilvy PR’s Chief Executive, Asia and Pacific and EAME, said “Ogilvy PR represents a number of the world’s most valuable brands whose boards and CEOs know that the Russia, China and India not only have faster growth rates but also will eventually overtake the GDP of major Western economies. SPN Ogilvy PR now gives us the leading PR presence in these three critical markets.” Mr. Anderson added that each country now boasts scores of companies that are pursuing international branding and financial strategies and that investment and trade flows between such markets is rapidly growing.
Mr. Andrey Barannikov, SPN Granat General Director, said that the agreement was developed over 18 months and is a result of a careful process of working together, seconding staff to Ogilvy offices and planning for the development of the market. “Many of our clients are also international Ogilvy clients – through this and our time together, we have become strategic partners,” said Mr. Barannikov.
