Washington, DC – Ogilvy PR Worldwide’s Sacramento team brought home first place for its work for Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California in an award ceremony held today at the National Press Club. Valerie Vento, head of the Sacramento Office, Creative Director Kris Hanson, Public Affairs Senior Vice President Maggie Linden and Kathy Kneer, CEO of Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California, traveled to Washington, DC, to accept the award.
“Every year, PR Week looks at public relations programs undertaken on behalf of non-profit agencies around the country and picks the very best work in several categories,” said Ogilvy’s Linden. “We’re thrilled that the judges selected our work for Planned Parenthood. This culminated a three-year brand-study headed by Val Vento and outstanding creative work by Kris Hanson that brought it to life. This work will help reshape how Planned Parenthood looks and talks to the public. It is exciting, groundbreaking work, and we were delighted to undertake it.”
The campaign rebrand, titled “Someone you know… Planned Parenthood – We’re here,” is being rolled out by the organization’s nine California affiliates throughout this year and is under consideration in a number of other states around the country.

PR Week’s awards features work by museums, health centers, social service agencies and other non-profits from around the country. Categories dealing with public relations include media outreach, social media and websites, branding, crisis management and others.
