Ogilvy PR/Washington Adds Four Senior Staff to Expanding Health & Medical Practice

Washington, DC, July 23, 2003 — Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide/Washington added to all elements of its award-winning Health & Medical Practice with the addition of four new senior staff members.

“One of the key differentiators of Ogilvy PR’s Health & Medical Practice is the depth and breadth of skill sets that we offer our government and private sector clients,” said Robert Mathias, managing director, Washington. “With the addition of these four people, we are adding significant talent to our healthcare public affairs, media and marketing offerings.”

The Health & Medical Practice in Washington is headed by managing director Pam Jenkins, who also co-heads the practice agency-wide. The four new staffers include:

Matthew Hutchinson, vice president—Matthew has significant corporate, agency and reporting experience. Prior to joining Ogilvy PR, he was a director of corporate communications for Sony Electronics’ business-to-business and professional services divisions. He has also served as a senior public relations manager for Apple Computer and has worked with several public relations firms, The Washington Times and NewsChannel 8. He will provide media expertise for our GlaxoSmithKline client.

Jennifer Levine, vice president—This is Jennifer’s second tour at Ogilvy PR. Since leaving Ogilvy PR nine years ago, she has headed her own marketing and communications consultancy, served as communications director at the National Breast Cancer Coalition, a grassroots advocacy organization, and worked as the director of communications at the International Bottled Water Association. She will provide public affairs support for CDC and pharmaceutical accounts.

Jennifer Patterson, account director—Jennifer comes to Ogilvy PR from Share Our Strength, where she has worked for more than three years as an account manager and marketing coordinator. She has also worked at Time-Life Inc. and Reading Is Fundamental, Inc. She will serve as a partnership manager for Ogilvy PR’s National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute contracts and for pharmaceutical accounts.

Kay Campbell, account supervisor—Kay has nearly a decade of experience working in healthcare and education. She has most recently worked as a health communications specialist on several National Cancer Institute accounts at NOVA Research Company and as an administrative analyst and project coordinator at Richmond Human Services. She has also worked at the Close Up Foundation, the American Nurses Association and Allegheny College. She will manage projects for the National Institute for Child Health and Human Development and the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism.
