Ogilvy PR/Washington Names Tony Bullock as New EVP/Public Affairs

Washington, DC, September 15, 2004 — Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide (Ogilvy PR) today announced that Tony Bullock, former Director of Communications to DC Mayor Anthony A. Williams, has joined its Washington, DC office as Executive Vice President of Public Affairs. Prior to joining the mayor’s office, Bullock was chief of staff to U.S. Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan (D-NY) and, before that, an elected official.

“With a career that spans DC city government, Capitol Hill and elected office, Tony has an unmatched ability to ‘connect the dots’ where government, policy, and politics meet,” said Robert Mathias, Managing Director of the Washington office. “We are thrilled to have him on our roster.”

As Chief of Staff to Senator Moynihan from 1996-2000, Bullock also served as principal spokesperson for the Senator and was the primary contact with the White House and other Congressional offices. In addition, he managed the confirmation process for New York State federal district and circuit court nominees.

“Our clients across the globe rely upon the Washington, DC office to provide them with counsel and communications support addressing a broad range of public affairs needs and issues,” said Jamie Moeller, Managing Director of Ogilvy PR’s Global Public Affairs Practice.

“With his contacts and depth of knowledge about the political process and government operations, Tony is a perfect fit for us and a great resource for our clients here and around the world.”

During his tenure with DC government, Bullock served as the primary communications contact for the District’s response to terrorist attacks and was the key architect of media response for the District government during the anthrax contamination of October 2001. He also successfully generated increased national media exposure for the mayor.

“Our clients will truly benefit from the experience, the relationships and the insights that Tony has developed, working at the highest levels with some of the nation’s most well-known and respected government leaders,” said Marcia Silverman, Ogilvy PR CEO. “I am thrilled that we were able to attract someone with his unique knowledge and experience.”

Bullock has 13 years of experience in elected office. He was elected to four successive terms as Town Supervisor of East Hampton, New York. Before that he served as a County Legislator in Suffolk County, New York and as an East Hampton Town Councilman.

He is a frequent commentator on national television and radio programs, including PBS, MSNBC, NPR, FoxNews, as well as local network affiliates in Washington, DC and New York.
