LOS ANGELES, June 20, 2014 – Ogilvy Public Relations (Ogilvy PR), an integrated global communications firm, today announced the appointment of Patricia Galea to Executive Vice President and Los Angeles Office Head, effective July 10. Reporting to Ogilvy PR/West Regional Managing Director Nathan Friedman, Galea will work across the firms’ Los Angeles clients and will be responsible for the office’s strategic direction and growth, working closely with the Ogilvy PR West regional team as well as the agency’s U.S. network.
Galea’s appointment deepens the social, digital and integrated marketing capabilities of the Los Angeles office. With nearly two decades of deep expertise in digital marketing, she has a strong track record of leading teams to create innovative and results-oriented programs that span across the paid-earned-owned landscape. Her career has focused on the entertainment, gaming and automotive industries with some of the most high-profile entertainment and consumer brands including Disney, ABC, Activision, Starz, Red Box, Twentieth Television, Honda, Acura, Lexus and Nestle.

Most recently, Galea worked at Edelman as Senior Vice President, Group Head of Edelman Digital and the Sector Lead for their Entertainment Industry Practice. She is credited with creating their Entertainment Practice that focuses on developing social media, PR and marketing programming for TV networks, film studios and game publishers.
Prior to Edelman, Galea served as Disney’s Executive Director, Digital Marketing and Product Strategy for Disney Channels Worldwide. She also held positions at AGENCY.COM, Saatchi & Saatchi and RPA.

Galea also spearheaded the digital advertising curriculum at UCLA Extension and serves as an Advisory Board member. She currently teaches a course at the university on advertising in the digital age.
