Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide Awarded Twelve New Contracts in its Washington Office

February and March's Flourishing New Business Results from Agency’s Dedication to Exceptional Client Service

Washington, D.C., April 23, 2007 – Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide (Ogilvy PR) announced today that since the beginning of February, it has been awarded twelve new contracts across four core practice areas: Social Marketing, Public Affairs, Healthcare and Technology. Ogilvy PR has been selected by government, corporate, association and non-profit clients to lead distinctive communications initiatives including, the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, the American Public Health Association, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Viral Hepatitis Roundtable, the Endocrine Society, a major pharmaceutical company and an area non-profit. Ogilvy PR’s Washington office will lead all contracts.

Following is a brief overview of some of the selected contracts and the specific communications support that Ogilvy PR will provide:

  • Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (HKETO) — Ogilvy PR will provide public affairs counsel to support HKETO in the United States. HKETO is the permanent representative of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government (HKSARG) and Ogilvy PR will look to strengthen the economic, trade, investment and cultural ties between Hong Kong and the United States through an aggressive, strategic communications plan. Ogilvy PR will rely on the expertise of Senior Vice President Rory Davenport in its public affairs practice to spearhead the account, which boasts some of the leading media relations practitioners in Washington, DC.
  • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) — CDC selected Ogilvy PR as one of its primary communications contractors. Under this seven-year, indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) umbrella contract, Ogilvy PR will assist CDC to plan, develop, produce and deliver public education communications campaigns on a wide variety of health-related issues.
  • National Viral Hepatitis Roundtable (NVHR) — NVHR engaged Ogilvy PR to support the organization’s work to educate policy-makers in Washington, DC and the rest of the United States toward NVHR’s goal of eliminating viral hepatitis. Key messages will be communicated through print and electronic media to the more than 100 organizations that comprise NVHR for use in their advocacy efforts.
  • American Public Health Association (APHA) — Ogilvy PR is working with APHA to organize a Roundtable of federal officials and state and local representatives for a discussion on Emergency Preparedness as a kickoff to National Public Health Week 2007.

The additional assignments will draw on the expertise of our senior practitioners in public affairs, specifically in the areas of international economic development, multicultural communications, digital influence and media relations.
