Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide Bolsters Senior Teams

Four Senior Hires And Two Promotions Broaden Agency Expertise

CHICAGO, IL– July 17, 2007 – Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide (Ogilvy PR) announces four new senior team members in its Chicago office: Ian Sohn, senior vice president, Consumer Marketing Practice; Kathy Cummings, vice president, Consumer Marketing Practice; Johnna Purcell, vice president, Consumer Marketing Practice; and Cindy Kosydor, vice president Media, Consumer Marketing Practice. Additionally, the firm promoted Moyra Knight from Senior Vice President to SVP and Group Director, Consumer Marketing and Joan Cetera from Vice President to VP and Deputy Group Director, Consumer Marketing.

Growing Expertise for a Growing Client Base
Sohn joins Ogilvy PR with more than 10 years of global strategic marketing, business development and public relations experience with some of the world's most valued brands, including Nokia and Sony.  His background includes identifying growth opportunities and partnerships for Nokia where he worked for three years to establish the company’s strategic global partnerships with brands like W Hotels.  He also oversaw North American marketing efforts for Nokia’s Music and Mobile TV efforts.  Prior to Nokia, Sohn was Senior Director, Media & Entertainment, at MKTG where he was the lead business strategist during the formation of the agency’s Media & Entertainment division.  Sohn worked with clients and partners including Columbia Records, Tower Records, VH1, Clear Channel Radio, Anschutz Entertainment Group and Time Inc.  Sohn is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Madison and has a Masters of Business Administration from New York University’s Stern School of Business.

Cummings joins the agency with nearly 20 years of consumer PR experience and has solid food and nutrition experience working on marquee clients such as Keebler, ConAgra, Sargento, KFC, Proctor & Gamble, Dairy Management, Unilever Foodservice Solutions and McCain Foods, just to name a few.  In her most recent role, Cummings was a Senior Counselor for Edelman PR, she has been a consultant for the last four years responsible for day-to-day client counsel, developing PR strategy, assisting with new business efforts and managing a team of PR professionals.  Kathy received her bachelor of arts in English from Loyola University.

Purcell, with more than 12 years PR experience, was most recently director of Corporate Communications for the Pampered Chef.  She has a strong background in both agency and in-house public relations and a particularly strong background in food and nutrition.  Prior to Pampered Chef, Johnna was a director in the Consumer Practice at Weber Shandwick where she developed and executed strategic public relations programs for well-known consumer brands and commodity accounts, including: Kraft South Beach Diet Foods, National Pork Producer Council/The Other White Meat, Foods From Spain—Olive Oil & Clementines, Frigidaire and Electrolux.  She also was Marketing Communications Manager for three years at Archibald Candy Company where she oversaw PR and advertising for Fannie May Candies.  Purcell is a graduate of Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Kosydor is a 17-year public relations veteran distinguished by deep experience in the food and beverage category.  Her clients have included Beech-Nut, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Miller Brewing Company, Jack Daniel’s Distillery, Kohl’s Department Stores, Fruit of the Loom, Energizer, St. Louis Children’s Hospital and Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.  Kosydor previously worked at Weber Shandwick/St. Louis where she was Group Media Relations Manager.  Prior to Weber Shandwick, Cindy owned her own consultancy for 10 years where she managed and executed a multi-year, integrated lifestyle marketing communications initiative for Fruit of the Loom featuring a portfolio of country music talent, cross-merchandising, retail promotions and lifestyle marketing events. She is a graduate of Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville.

Promotions Build Consumer Marketing Team Structure
With more than 14 years experience in PR and a background in the packaged goods industry on both the client and agency side, Knight oversees Ogilvy PR’s growing Chicago Consumer Marketing team.  At Ogilvy, Knight has led consumer marketing campaigns for some of the agencies leading clients including Lipton Tea, Johnsonville Sausage and SAM’S Club.  Prior to joining Ogilvy PR in 2001, Knight was senior manager of corporate communications at Kraft Foods, Inc.  While at Kraft, Knight was responsible for creating, managing and implementing corporate public relations activities for the largest branded food company in North America.  Knight is a graduate of University of Colorado, Boulder

Cetera’s broad-based consumer marketing experience has transcended financial services to toys and has included clients from McDonald’s to Microsoft to Bank One and Jim Beam Brands in her more than 10 years of public relations experience.  In addition to helping lead the growth of the Consumer Marketing team at Ogilvy PR, Cetera is the client lead on the Bausch & Lomb, Tropicana and Playmobil pieces of business.  Prior to joining Ogilvy PR in 2004, Joan was an account lead for several consumer packaged goods companies at both JSH&A Public Relations and Edelman. Cetera holds a bachelor of science in news-editorial journalism from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and a Masters of Business Administration from Keller Graduate School.
