Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide Names Mark O'Connor as Senior Vice President of Media Relations

Seasoned Media Relations Practitioner Previously With The Food Network and MSNBC

New York, N.Y., October 1, 2007 – Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide (Ogilvy PR), a leading global communications firm, today announced that leading media relations expert, Mark O'Connor has joined the agency as Senior Vice President of Media Relations. In his new role, O'Connor will be part of the firm's National Media Relations Team, working closely with practice leaders to enhance media relations efforts for existing clients.

Prior to joining Ogilvy PR, O'Connor served as Vice President of Public Relations for the Food Network. During his tenure, he was responsible for all programming and talent media relations, as well as corporate and industry relations. O'Connor worked on successful campaigns including the network's 10th Anniversary, the launch of "Iron Chef America" and the network's most-watched program in its history, "The Next Food Network Star." His most recent achievement includes the launch of the network's first public affairs program with Share Our Strength—a national hunger-relief agency dedicated to ending childhood hunger in the United States.

A graduate of Manhattan College, O'Connor previously served as the director of communications for MSNBC, the all-news network based in Secaucus, NJ; an account director for Goodman Media International, a New York based public relations agency; a New York based entertainment press representative with CBS Entertainment; and a senior publicist with CNN.

Ogilvy PR will continue to build on its rich history of developing and implementing effective and award-winning media relations campaigns with O'Connor on board. He will be based in Ogilvy PR's headquarters in New York.
