Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide Scores 23 Honors, Sweeping Two-thirds of all Campaign of the Year Awards

Hong Kong, Thursday, November 20, 2008 – Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide (Ogilvy PR) took 23 honors in 16 out of the 25 categories of the awards, including winning about two-thirds of all the possible “Campaign of the Year” sub-categories. In the best-in-show Gold Award for Campaign of the Year, Ogilvy PR’s Pulse Communications won with a powerful program run in Australia for BlueScope Steel that welded together the steelmaker, the drought and school children for educational and environmental solutions to gather rainwater.

Among the other Gold Awards, Ogilvy PR’s President for China, Scott Kronick, won PR Agency Head of the Year. Kronick founded the PR operations in China 13 years ago and has worked with Ogilvy PR for more than two decades, culminating in a stunning Olympic year wherein his team supported 10 Olympic sponsors. In Ogilvy PR’s third Gold Award, Kronick’s Beijing operations won Consultancy of the Year.

In several categories, Ogilvy PR took multiple honors, in effect competing against itself, despite a record 321 entries from the Asia Pacific region. In the category of employee communications Ogilvy PR took 3 of the 4 prizes, in crisis management took 2 of 3 prizes and in public affairs took all 3 awards.

Graves also noted the geographic diversity of the wins, coming from Beijing to Bangkok to Bombay, and from Shanghai to Sydney.
