PRSA Gives Highest Honor to Three in Georgia Chapter

Three Fellow named in Georgia Chapter

DETROIT/ATLANTA – October 27, 2008 – The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) has announced its inductees into the 2008 College of Fellows. Three of the 16 new Fellows are members of the Georgia Chapter.

Georgia Chapter members named are:
• Ray A. Crockett, APR. Crockett is director of communications with Coca-Cola North America
• Mickey G. Nall, APR. Nall is managing director of the Atlanta office of Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide
• B. Kathleen Skipper, APR. Skipper is Business Partnerships and Strategic Alliances Director at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Induction into the College of Fellows is the hallmark of achievement in one’s public relations career and includes a minimum of 20 years of experience in public relations.

All three new Georgia Chapter Fellows are Accredited in Public Relations (APR) by PRSA. The APR designation is a mark of distinction for public relations professionals with at least five years’ experience in the fulltime practice or teaching of public relations who demonstrate their commitment to the profession and to its ethical practice, and who are selected based on broad knowledge, strategic perspective, and sound professional judgment.

There are only 407 Fellows from a membership of 20,000 in the Public Relations Society of America. The three new Georgia Fellows were officially inducted with the others in their class at the Society’s 2008 International Conference in Detroit on October 25th.

PRSA|GA (www.prsageorgia.org), the second-largest local chapter in the national society, consists of nearly 1,000 professionals throughout Georgia. Its mission is to enhance the profession, provide continuing education and offer networking opportunities for its members.

The Chapter has monthly meetings as well as nine Special Interest Groups (Employee Communications, Government/Military Affairs, Healthcare, Independent Counselors, Leader Board, Nonprofit, Technology, Travel & Tourism, and Young Professionals) that meet at various times.

The Chapter supports six PRSSA (student society) groups at these colleges: Clark Atlanta University, Georgia College & State University, Georgia State University, Georgia Southern University, Kennesaw State University and University of Georgia.
