The board of directors was confirmed at WWPR's annual meeting January 13, 2009 at the Arts Club. This is Lauren Lawson's first term as president after many years of WWPR involvement.
"I'm honored to be selected as president. I have the privilege of carrying on WWPR traditions and of working with outstanding professionals who care about our membership. My fellow board members are a diverse group of women who will take WWPR to its next level of growth," says Lawson.
During the meeting out-going President Lisa McCluskey was honored for her many years of service to the board. WWPR also announced its new pro-bono client, The Children's Law Center.
Washington Women in Public Relations is a professional organization for women in the public relations field. For over 25 years, WWPR has provided its members with networking and professional development opportunities.
