Washington, DC, May 17, 2005 — The Web Marketing Association has awarded Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide (Ogilvy PR) the “Best Non-Profit Online Campaign” in the 2005 Internet Advertising Competition (IAC) Awards. Ogilvy PR won for its comprehensive interactive marketing campaign that promoted Oxfam America’s HungerBanquet.org.
“This award recognizes not only the accomplishments of Oxfam’s online campaign, but also the tremendous talent of our staff and their dedication to exceeding client’s expectations,” said Robert Mathias, Managing Director of the Washington office. “Thank you to the Web Marketing Association for such an honor.”
Ogilvy PR implemented a campaign that targeted college students, youth aged 12-24 and educators between September and December 2004 in order to increase traffic to Oxfam’s HungerBanquet.org. The campaign included online advertising, search engine sponsored listings, a virtual game and media outreach. Results included over five million online impressions delivered to Oxfam’s target audiences, 700 additions to Oxfam’s e-community and over 15,000 click-throughs to HungerBanquet.org. The project was based in Ogilvy PR’s Washington office and led by John Bell, Vice President/Creative Director of Creative Services.
The Web Marketing Association’s annual IAC Awards honor excellence in online advertising and recognizes the individuals and organizations responsible for the best in Internet marketing. The IAC Awards are the first and only industry-based advertising award competition dedicated exclusively to online advertising. The Competition web site with a complete list of winners is located at www.advertisingcompetition.org.
