Upcoming Appearances

Social Media Week

Event Date: February 19, 2013

What: Social@Ogilvy, the integrated social media team working across all Ogilvy & Mather disciplines, is hosting Social Media Week panel sessions at Ogilvy & Mather’s offices in New York City, Paris, Singapore, and Washington, DC. Social Media Week is a worldwide event exploring the social, cultural and economic impact of social media. New York sessions feature an exclusive with Tumblr Founder and CEO David Karp and panelists from Ford, Whole Foods, and iHeartRadio. That same day, Social@Ogilvy will create an innovative strategy with Google using Google+ for Caterpillar and debut it live on stage.

Time Warner Cable and publishing authority Digiday also join the dynamic list of panelists for New York sessions on social customer care and animated gif advertising, respectively. New York will host a Master Class on community management and discuss emerging topics such as mobile and social developments in healthcare. Panels in Paris range from crisis communication to Social CRM and Singapore’s focus is on what drives memorable social media marketing. Washington, DC sessions range from “It's Not Just About Likes; Measuring the Effectiveness of Social Media” to “Show, Don't Tell: The Rise of the Visual Web”.

Social Media Week is packed with trends and insights from leading social media experts from around the world. Findings will be shared via social media platforms to offer both attendees and non-attendees updates in real-time. Track the dedicated hashtag #SMWOgilvy for Ogilvy & Mather Social Media Week coverage. Follow Social@Ogilvy on Twitter (@SOCIALOGILVY) and check out http://social.ogilvy.com for a collection of important ideas, messages and trends brands needs to know from Social Media Week moving forward.

After the conference, Social@Ogilvy will be sharing its perspective on the rebranding of the Community Manager – the Community Director. As a preview, here are 7 skills of a Community Director.

Social@Ogilvy unleashed a powerful presence at Social Media Week 2012 with its official launch. However, the practice began in 2005 as a digital influence offering, growing Social@Ogilvy’s network and solutions over the past 7+ years. This past year brought the offering to a much higher level with more client engagements around the globe, more accountability with measurable programs, and more global award recognition.

Social@Ogilvy is cross-discipline, working on marketing initiatives, customer care programs, public relations, shopper activation and, yes, even pure-play social programs. Social@Ogilvy’s POV is that the best social approach is an integrated offering with many disciplines. Each discipline will see even more radical change through the next few years of social growth.

Who: Social@Ogilvy representatives will be hosting panels and a Master Class. The panels and Master Class can be watched via live stream here on Social@Ogilvy’s blog. The @SOCIALOGILVY Twitter handle will break down key insights and learnings from some of the largest brands in the world and leading experts.
