DALIAN – Following a competitive bid, the World Economic Forum (the Forum) has again chosen Ogilvy Public Relations (Ogilvy PR), Beijing as its official PR partner for this year’s Annual Meeting of the New Champions, widely known as the Summer Davos, in Dalian, China. As one of the foremost global business gatherings in Asia, the Summer Davos will join together more than 1,600 top government decision-makers, chief executives from some of the world’s largest multinational corporations and fastest-growing companies, leading academic thinkers, media and civil society to discuss the issues surrounding this year’s event theme, “Meeting the Innovation Imperative.”
Through seven years of longstanding partnership with the Forum, Ogilvy PR has formed a solid team of media, social media and conference experts in China to provide the Forum with on-site Chinese and international media relations support. In addition, the team will also focus on developing a social media strategy for Chinese platforms including Sina Weibo, Tencent Weibo and WeChat to ensure the Forum continues to resonate with a local audience in the evolving content and social media landscape.
Scott Kronick, President of Ogilvy PR, North Asia said, “As the economic power of China’s middle class rises and their needs diversify, China’s potential for innovation will dominate the economic conversation as the country makes strides towards developing a number of innovative products and services. We’re honored to continue our partnership with the Forum and look forward to helping advance high-level discussions around this important topic.”
The Summer Davos will run from 11-13 September 2013, marking its seventh year in China.
Ogilvy PR has also been selected as the Official PR Partner for two of the Forum’s other Asian meetings which took place in Myanmar in June 2013 and in India in November 2012.
