As National Managing Director of Ogilvy Public Relations South Africa, Joanna Oosthuizen leads a team of some of the country’s most reputable public relations and reputation management professionals in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg.

Prior to becoming National MD, Joanna was Managing Director of Ogilvy PR Johannesburg and has since evolved the public relations discipline of Ogilvy & Mather South Africa into the second largest Ogilvy PR office in the EMEA region.

Under her leadership, she launched Social@Ogilvy, in 2012 and in 2013, created the Content Factory. Her areas of expertise lie in strategy, high-level client services, project and budget management and issues and crisis management.

With content creation being a critical element of Ogilvy PR’s work with clients in the digital age, supported by consulting, business transformation strategy and communications, Joanna plays an active role with her staff and works closely with clients such as Anglo American, Adcock Ingram, Avis, Kimberley-Clark, LG, Sasol and Yum! International KFC.

Joanna’s work has been recognized by the industry with esteemed awards such as Cannes Lions, PRISMs (South Africa PR Awards) and the Loerie Awards. She is a regular judge at PRISMs and serves on the boards of Ogilvy Public Relations South Africa, Ogilvy & Mather Johannesburg, and the Ogilvy & Mather South Africa Executive Committee.
