BEIJING – The Boao Forum For Asia (BFA) has appointed Ogilvy PR/Beijing as its official public relations partner for its prestigious annual meeting of Asian and global leaders in government, business and academia. The four-day event kicks off tomorrow on the island of Boao, Hainan Province at the southernmost part of China.
Commenting on the upcoming conference, Scott Kronick, President of Ogilvy & Mather Group Beijing and Ogilvy PR China, said "This is the third consecutive year that the BFA has appointed us as their official PR partner. The challenge for us is to help make the Forum as relevant and valuable to the delegates as possible, and to effectively communicate BFA's value proposition to these leaders."
Ogilvy PR was selected because of the firm's strong understanding of the media landscape and recognized expertise in managing prominent, large scale events in China.
Christopher Graves, President & CEO, Asia Pacific, Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, will also serve the BFA for the third time in his role as moderator for panel sessions on "Best Practice of Doing Business in Emerging Markets" and "Time for a Green New Deal?" - a session which will debate the UN Secretary General's proposal on environmental degradation and global warming.
Sir Martin Sorrell, Chief Executive of WPP, will also attend the event and will be a panelist for a session on "Imagine-Asia: Tapping into Asia's Creative Industry Potential."
Boao Forum for Asia was formally inaugurated in February 2001.
