Hong Kong (August 20, 2012) – Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTPC) has appointed Ogilvy Public Relations to enhance awareness of HKSTPC’s role in building a diverse economy by fostering technological innovations in Hong Kong.
As part of the campaign, Ogilvy will also support HKSTPC on a number of key milestones, including the launch of Hong Kong Science Park Phase 3, a showcase for sustainable practice, construction and development. The three-year partnership commences in mid-July and will take the form of an integrated communications campaign to elevate their position and connectivity.
“The science and technology sector in Hong Kong is entering an exciting phase. We are committed to building a diverse economic portfolio, creating opportunities in industries other than finance,” said Mr. E Anthony Tan, CEO of HKSTPC. “At this moment when we are embarking on a new era with Phase 3 of Hong Kong Science Park being developed, the local community and businesses, as well as the wider science and technology industry will surely be seeing a lot more of us in the next few years as we aim to take innovation and technology growth in Hong Kong to the next level.”
“Hong Kong needs to further enhance its position in the technology space and stands a good chance of becoming a leader in certain technology sectors by supporting and developing technologies such as green tech. Increasingly, governments are setting green roadmaps, creating an opportunity for businesses to claim their stake. Why not make Hong Kong the hub for this,” said Clara Shek, Managing Director, Ogilvy Public Relations, and Hong Kong.
HKSTPC is a statutory organisation set up in 2001 by the Government of HKSAR. It comprises Hong Kong Science Park in Shatin, InnoCentre in Kowloon Tong, and three Industrial Estates in Tai Po, Yuen Long and Tseung Kwan O.
