Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide Bolsters Senior Teams in its New York Headquarters

One Senior Hire and Three Promotions Broaden Agency Expertise

NEW YORK, NY– February 14, 2008 – Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide (Ogilvy PR) announces today a new senior team member in its New York office: Tamara Boorstein, vice president, Public Affairs. In addition, the firm promoted Joe Snodgrass from Senior Vice President to Executive Vice President, Public Affairs; Linda Carilli from Vice President to Senior Vice President, Healthcare Practice; and Cynthia Isaac from Vice President to Senior Vice President, Healthcare Practice.

Growing Expertise for a Growing Client Base
Boorstein joins the agency with an extensive background in public relations. She has worked at several agencies including, Edelman and most recently MWW Group—where she most recently served as vice president in the Global Corporate Communications Practice. She has worked on a variety of accounts including, Scottish Development International, Scottish Executive, Iceland Naturally, Visit Scotland, Diabetes America and the State University of New York. Boorstein earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia and a master’s degree in education from Adelphi in New York. She is fluent in French and can also converse in Italian, Japanese and Russian.

Promotions Build Healthcare and Public Affairs Team Structure
Snodgrass has been instrumental in the development of Ogilvy PR’s New York Public Affairs Practice. At Ogilvy PR, he has led campaigns for some of the agencies leading clients including Lexis Nexis, Boehringer Ingelheim and Grant Thornton. Prior to rejoining Ogilvy PR, he managed media relations and message development at The Harbour Group—a public affairs and government relations firm—for a variety of clients including, the Asbestos Study Group—a coalition of Fortune 100 firms seeking asbestos litigation reform, US Airways, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Consumer Electronics Association.  Previously, Snodgrass managed tax, banking and budget issues as a legislative assistant on the staff of Congressman Mike Doyle (D-PA).  He has also served on mayoral, congressional and gubernatorial election campaigns. Snodgrass received his bachelor’s degree in government from the College of William & Mary.

Carilli has a strong background in health, consumer and issues communications, which spans over twenty-five years of experience from agency, corporate and media settings. At Ogilvy PR, she has worked with clients including, Ethicon Women’s Health & Urology, Dey, L.P. and the American Association of Gynecological Laparoscopists (AAGL).  Prior to joining Ogilvy PR, Carilli was general manager of Public Affairs for Weight Watchers International where her efforts affected the weight management landscape at all levels often through building bridges with health professionals and third-party organizations. Her previous experience also includes serving as director of Nutrition and Consumer Services at the Thomas J. Lipton Company, overseeing the Test Kitchen, Product Publicity and Consumer Affairs. In addition, she served as vice president/group manager at Ketchum Public Relations where she helped to build the company's nutrition communications reputation. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Douglass College, Rutgers University and a master’s degree from Boston University. Carilli is also a registered dietitian.

Isaac has over eleven years of experience in the healthcare field. She has provided counsel to senior management of leading companies in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device and diagnostics sectors. At Ogilvy PR, Issac has been a key leader for accounts such as Bayer Schering Pharma’s Betaferon® and Betaseron®. Prior to joining Ogilvy PR, Isaac was a vice president at The Ruth Group, a boutique agency, where she managed the Biotechnology Public Relations Group. Earlier in her career, she specialized in biotechnology at Noonan Russo (now called Euro RSCG Life NRP). Isaac obtained her doctorate degree in cell and molecular biology from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. She has extensive laboratory experience researching protein complexes involved in nucleocytoplasmic transport, RNA modification and their role in disease. She is the author of several papers in reputed peer-reviewed publications and has presented at various scientific conferences.
