[BEIJING: 19 MAY 2010] Tencent Holdings Ltd (SEHK 700) has appointed Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide/Beijing to provide public relations support to QQ.com, China’s largest web portal. QQ.com is a business unit of Tencent which is a senior sponsor of the Shanghai World Expo in the internet services category. After a competitive pitch involving four other international PR agencies, Ogilvy PR was awarded the assignment which will encompass both brand and product PR for the QQ.com business unit.
As China’s top web portal by number of visitors, QQ.com integrates Tencent’s various platforms including its online portal, QQ instant messenger platform and social media communities to offer enriched news content to Chinese users. The company will also leverage its Shanghai Expo sponsorship to demonstrate the value of its integrated “one stop shop for online lifestyles” platform to China’s 404 million web users (China Internet Network Information Center).

Ogilvy PR will be responsible for developing the overall communication strategy and managing all Shanghai Expo media communications until the end of 2010.
